Two Poems

Mountain

Sitting on a mountain all I can
See is a little black lady
Crying and that's me
Sitting on a mountain all I can
See is my son crying out saying
Mom, please don't leave me
Sitting on a mountain all I can
See is my tears that I'm crying
Following me
Sitting on a mountain all I can
See is a heavy burden right
Behind me

Crack Control

When crack took over my
Life, you see it took over my
Pride and Dignity
When crack took over my
Life you see, it took all
My responsibilities
When crack took over my
Life you see, I needed
Something for all my
Pain and Grief
When crack took over my
Life you see, it took my
Son away from me
When crack took over my
Life you see, it left me
Just like a dying tree
